ADU's can be used to expand the short term Rental Unit marketplace ... "as long as the owner resides at the lot's primary residence on at the property". There are some provisions being proposed that require a minimum 30 days Lease to reduce the short term rental churn.

City officials have stated that the new law is to promote additional Affordable Housing construction ( provided by the private sector ).
